When Is the Best Time to Visit Spiti Valley & Stay at Hostels in Spiti?
Spiti Valley is known for its harsh climate. The winter months of December to March are harsh, and the valley is blanketed in snow. During these months, snowfall can occur at any time, and temperatures can drop to -20 degrees Celsius. The Spiti valley begins to awake as the summer months approach.
As the roads improve, so will the number of tourists at Best Spiti Hotels. The temperatures are pleasant during the months of April and May, as some flora begins to bloom. As the snow melts, lakes form.
While Spiti Valley is open almost all year, the ‘it seasons’ runs from June to the beginning of October. Despite being in a rain shadow region, Spiti experiences frequent drizzle and precipitation during the months of June and July and you can easily stay at Hostels in Spiti. As a result, the roads can become a little perilous.
But come August, the valley is ablaze with autumn colours! The pristine colours of the rivers and lakes, combined with the orange hues of the trees and the white mountains in the background, are out of this world. It should be noted that the weather during this period can be quite cold, with temperatures ranging from 3 to 5 degrees Celsius at night and early morning. Most days will be cloudy and misty.
